Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

"It would be really nice if management was transparent on this whole process."

To be far, MB and her team were very transparent with the layoffs at the time of the decision. They had a reason, emails, broadcasts, and a public excuse for everything under the sun when cuts were announced. Remember, they wanted to be transparent with everyone?

They bloated this company up since 2015 to a very obese company. Rather than diet and exercise in a healthy way, they did the unthinkable. They loped off an entire arm and a leg, and then claimed they lost weight. Everyone around them watched stunned in horror at what just occurred.

My manager says he never heard anything before we did and he's been pretty honest with his gut through this. So place blame for lack of communication higher up the chain I guess.

I agree! When was the last corporate communication? There hasn't been any. Many of us don't know if or when the cuts are coming let alone how they will be conducted. Transparency, what a joke for anyone below the executive line.

As a GM employee, I can tell you they have s---ed the life out of most of us. Every one of my co-workers are stressed over this. Each one of us wrestling with the unknown. Each of us wondering who, when and how. There is NO transparency and management has gone dark since we came back on the 2nd.

This is no way to create worker loyalty let alone a safe workplace. I sure hope security is on the ball and we don't have to practice our active shooter training. You can't put your workforce under this type of pressure for a sustained period of time without expecting somebody to snap.

I reposted, I just felt that this deserved a full blown topic (or thread)... Please ignore it if you do not like it, but I really felt we needed a thread on 'transparency' and 'how the cuts got designed'...

I could have written my own post but this poster (the post is not mine) had put it together much better thank i ever could have.
