Announced store closings, massive waves of layoffs, restructuring, the introduction of new technology, automation, store shrinking, replacing more expensive workers with cheaper ones, and even when none of that is happening you still have smaller strokes of layoffs here and there. We all look at the current situation and we are stressing out whether we will keep our job, but hoping at the same time that some better times will come in which we will be more secure, peaceful or content about our position at the company. The sad thing is that that time of internal peace will never come. There will always be something. The fact is that no one can take our experience, work ethics, discipline, devotion or any other quality. Given that we are in good health we can all find other jobs ( I know, easier said than done, but it’s far from impossible)/ The fact is that we’re doing the most damage to ourselves by stressing out and working about something that is always possible.
