If this bid is approved by the court (and it likely will), it'll be a win for employees... not Eddie, not the creditors, not the vendors, not the customers, and not the employees who lost their jobs before you. Use this gift of time wisely folks... even if you're at work browsing job boards.

I saw a post from some HE cheerleader saying to use your time to fire up a register (for non-existent customers) or rally support on social media (so spam your friends and family?) or straighten inventory (as if there is any... *cough). Nope... use your time to collect that paycheck and light up the job boards. Make a recruiter your new best friend. Set up that LinkedIn account. Network with your friends. But by no means become complacent and expect the same same captain that steered the Titanic into the iceberg to right the ship by bailing out the water with his silver spoon. Too little, too late. The reputation of the company and Eddie are completely unsalvageable.

No lessons were learned over the last 10-12 years and this bid didn't suddenly make Sears relevant or competitive or administratively competent. Don't expect a sudden change in leadership or internal marketing nonsense to swoop in like some silver bullet. If the rate of cash burn over the last year is any indication you'll only have a few good months before Eddie starts shuttering stores and field operations again.

I sincerely wish my fellow Sears employees well. I hope to see you all out there at the spring job fairs.

I agree, thank god I left back last November. I'm sure some people at my Kmart are "excited" that their jobs are "saved" when in reality it is only again making it a slow; painful demise but whatever placebo they wish to swallow is their business.
