Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

All industries evolve, grow, and then eventually die

Petroleum will be around for some time yet, but I agree one should not assume it will be a growth industry too much forward. Alternative technology is getting better, new tech like fusion has a real possibility of being very disruptive, and the real consequences of climate change will only become clearer in time. All industries evolve, grow, and then eventually die... like all things in life. You can stick your head is the sand and pretend all is great (again), but it does not change the trend. Better to get on a train heading up the mountain.

Don't plagiarize someone else's post if you can't come up with an original thought of your own, please. Posts get all the "visibility" that they need in the place the original poster intentionally wanted it, not where two-bit do-nothings with no originality or ability to come up with a simple comment thinks.

Yeah, I am in a different industry that is falling off a cliff with no end in sight.

At almost 55, not sure I want to fight for sc-aps in my industry going forward, with all the stress of it, yet starting in a new field is just too late and would be too little benefit in the years I have remaining to work. This s---s...timing is everything.
