Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Layoffs are always a possibility

Layoffs are an essential part of WM policies towards its workers. That’s why most of the layoff rumors turn out to be true. That’s the reality we live in now, so we have to make peace with the fact that we will always feel threatened and our jobs will always be insecure. When we ad to this that WM is a changing company and that it, as a big employer has the ability to produce big layoffs. If job security and internal peace is our biggest goal regarding the work environment, think that we need to take our skills elsewhere.

Last year was a PR nightmare with Sam’s Club closings, Sam’s GMs, and Walmart CO mgrs. The company learned the hard way that loose lips sink ships. Also learned that information spreads like wildfire due to social media/forums like this one and the need of stronger confidentiality agreements. They continued the last year by closing underperforming Walmart stores under the radar.

The one thing that has been consistent with Walmart is change. Don’t know what changes are on the horizon, yet they will definitely be more organized like they were in 2016 vs. 2018.

This is the new plareau the trolls are at now that they realize people aren't buying into their hysteria 'SOMETHING'S GONNA HAPPEN!!' garbage. Now, it's 'ok, well you're right, I can't prove anything I've been saying....but my opinions are just as valid as facts, and you're all kosers for questioning me in the first place.'

Predictable as stink after a fart. :)

True

Not sure if we are going to see any large changes involving layoffs. Meetings are over 75% complete and nothing new yet coming out. Maybe that room with 100s and 100d of people in it all connect via phones to the world is just really good at keeping secrets..,
