I am a Ford employee and have been doing a lot of research looking for information on our up coming cuts. First let me say I have followed this thread and I am so sorry for everything you are going through. My heart went out to all of you. I think my time is up as well and I have around six more weeks of total anxiety waiting for it to happen. These big companies see dollar signs not human beings with families to support. Its sickening really. Now... let's talk numbers. I found out that every company that is having a mass layoff or cuts has to REPORT this to the state 60 days BEFORE the employees are off the payroll. This report is public knowledge but the first time I heard about it. Google WARN notice for whatever state you are in... WARN notice for MI or WARN notice for Texas... etc. This is the report the companies have to send. It stands for Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification. This is where I found the Warren Tech numbers.. Brownstown... Hamtramic... etc. You will want to check 2019 PDF and 2018 in case they filed in December.

The GM WARN notice for WTC listed ~1,300 which was only product engineering. It didn’t include the folks from manufacturing engineering as far as I can tell.
At Ford, management were given targets by group the end of last year. Layoffs will start happening this quarter. Europe will be first.
In Auto industry, GM cut first, Ford 2nd then FCA.
Almost 30000 cuts at ford in the pipeline... good luck... that is global
There was no WARN notice for 2018 or 2019 for Texas.
Thank You.
Sounds like a GM social media manager (psy ops) is present). You've got your work cut out for you mitigating this.
There are ways around posting a warn notice. As GM did they can simply pay their employees for 60 days or whatever the required notice period is, and there are numerous other dodges. Watching the warn notices I would estimate only about 50% of the layoffs get a warn, while others don't like GM's until they happen.
Hello and best wishes to you and the rest of the Ford team in the coming months.
One thing to keep in mind is that there's a lot of misinformation and ax-grinding on this site. While the layoffs have impacted thousands of people and their families, some of the posts here are not accurate.
Thanks for posting the details about the WARN notices.
