Show Me The Money! Can you say Layoffs? I hope I win the layoff lottery. It is the dumbest thing I have ever seen though. I have watched over the past few years, we will lay someone off, pay them a 6 months severance, and then rehire someone 3 months later for the same position. We are so incredibly mismanaged that we end up spending more money trying to save money.

Any cost savings are overshadowed by the loss of knowledge, and those shortsighted decisions are not easy to recover from. No surprise that people are moving on.
It's a headache for the ones left here too who get to train their new bosses every two years. No one's really driving this ship either. Ops thinks it's hr and vice versa. Who's genius strategy is it to constantly barrage new, less quality talent hoping someone gets it right... The vps, board, hr or all three? I can tell you when it changed though...
I read this while picking my nose. I wiped that booger on my terminal screen.
what you don't realize is that they are back filling those positions at lower salaries.
And what day will we be having layoffs on?
I have seen the exact same thing year over year. When EHS has their lay-off, I actually laughed out loud. Not because people were let go, but rather because I know they will post for some of those positions in about 6 months or so following the ones that leave in April. Regardless of how much things try to change, they find a way to stay the same.
If your planning on leaving, say something to your management and let them know you would like a package if there is going to be any let go in your department. According to the EHS VP all groups will be making cuts.
