Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Short on Knowledge, Long on tasks, Life as a specialist

Reasons to take your knowledge elsewhere:

  1. Not asked to be a juggler and multitask while focusing on selling a project to customer.

(Hey Joe can you walk my dog, take out the trash, pick up the kids, pay the bills, fill in for Jim....we need to cut back we spend too much... oh yeah and have a nice day at work cause i'll need to take some pay out to help me get through these tough times while i'm in Vgas lol)

  1. Afforded a relaxed and comfortable selling environment to present a stable platform to ease customer's anxiety. (Constant intercom hailing someone to somewhere , Code this, Code that, assist buttons going off in saw cutting, when there is no one working those areas)

  2. Hear "do more with more" instead of thread bare "do more with less"

  3. Not being the only person who knows the right answer. (Do any Lowes managers or executives even work on their own houses, a simple light switch puts a crazed look on most asms faces. Does Marvin know the Home Improvement business? Where is the training?

  4. Have a pay grade scaled to knowledge and experience not lips to a-- cheeks

Until Corporate addresses every day operations, we are all lost.

Lowes is backwards operationally, on the store level.

Corporate has the new stocking program, but no staff to execute it. HA!

This is an accurate post! Yesterday, I was the only specialist there helping one customer, with 2 waiting,

and a vendor waiting. While Im frantically working the ASM storms over as Im with a customer (selling) and he interrupts saying "didnt you hear me paging you?" I told him Im busy and with customers and no, I didnt. He keeps on being rude and distracting anyway, until the customer told him to STFU.

When I finally finished with all customers (no breaks or lunch all day and left 1 hr past my time) I asked this mo--n what he needed me for. He said he "had a CPO question."

Hes the ASM, and I dodnt even deal with CPO at Pro. ITS HIS JOB!

This is the operational c-ap we deal with daily. Managers who shirk their responsibilities, and do not know what they are doing.

Its so bad, I am interviewing outside of Lowes. Many of our employees are just up and quitting by being no calls / no shows. They have so little respect they dont even quit, they just dont come back and to be honest, its well deserved.

Don’t worry JCP isn’t selling appliances any more. I’d almost bet Lowe’s will jump at the opportunity to hire their appliance associates at a discount. The flaw in the logic. JCP appliance department failed. That’s why they aren’t selling appliances. They are the example of what NOT to do.

This is completely accurate. Marv is destined to repeat Sears/JCP failures.
