Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Any layoffs before the end of February?

There was some talk about it, was it proven untrue?

I see postings for the same positions of people let go and I am pretty sure HR is not in tune with Management. Why would u ever fire someone and hire another for the same position!? It seems CrAZY! I don’t even think they have a clue of infrastructure or else there wouldn’t be people fired so randomly and/of such reliable backgrounds.. they need leadership in HR to help them in this reduction cost process or else they are still playing around with postings and not saving a dime by redesigning the company infrastructure! Isn’t that what HR supposed to do? Create infrastructure, and job profiles to improve efficiency as well as in internal procedures.

From what I have heard, Icahn Enterprise, which has been digging through Xerox since last summer, is identifying who (divisions/groups/individuals) has to go and basically telling HR to get it done, period. For example, I know folks were were terminated for 'performance issuses.'. Yet, after being shown the door, their role was posted for literally a day and then it taken down never to be filled or filled in another country.

I really hope they will strip management off.. too many screwing around with personnel and business procedures. Not one has been able to redesign a department or implement a process to streamline work or reduce cost. They should start with heads and down to project management.. we are no longer in any stage to develop anymore “projects” specially offshore!!!!

John V stated at the "Investors Day" presentation that one of his MO's is to "Strip two layers of management out of the business"...so yes , Layoffs will happen before the 1st quarter earnings report in May..

Why is the company even thinking on firing people.. if HR takes over by hiring again.. ?! Ha ha what are they saving? Costs? Or are they just generating more work for HR or HR for themselves to justify their job? Based on previous posts this department is not that efficient to let them take over decisions as important as letting anyone go over hiring a random person to the company with lack of any qualification.. to meet company standards! Here I am dealing with the screw ups of those new hires.. and retraining these people to GET the job.

Based on what else is going on, I think more IRIFs a question of if, but when.

They announced adding more "Shared Services" and additional optimization. Not sure how you could accomplish that without reducing manpower. Otherwise you are not saving money like the investors call said they would.

I have heard there will be some IRIF's on the 28th but I don't know if the sources are 100% reliable.
