I’m a Goodyear employee at the Gadsden plant in Alabama and most of us heard about the layoff just like everyone else did today. I personally got news of it first when I went into a store this morning and saw it on the front page of the newspaper and I couldn’t believe it. What was more unbelievable seeing some new hires walking through the plant today. The devil we all know.

You didn't see new hires walking thru the plant that day.no new employees started after that besides maintenance.
Gadsden is major tire plant that employs 1698 employees. Goodyear has a major investment in this plant. Layoffs do not bode well for the company going forward.
This management is too busy hiring suits and letting go of people who actually do the work. With you and your family - together we stand strong!
What an awful way to find out. but nothing surprises me from this management anymore. My hart goes to all of you guys at the Gadsden, good luck to you all.
