We just heard that skyworks in Woburn Massachusetts just had another series of layoffs. None of us can believe that this company is still in existence. I know a few years ago the Japanese came in and bought out a big part of them but they never did anything about the extremely poor management and quality of material. Fortunately their biggest customer are cell phone manufacturers and they don't want devices that will last more than 6 months to a year which works out perfect because the quality and yields of their material are so poor that there's no way they would last that long. This guarantees that you need to buy a new phone every year or so because the products don't last much longer than that. Management there is so corrupt and so stupid I can't believe that they make any money at all.

@XERT9oc you are totally ignorant. It's Skyworks which bought out the Japanese division and then turned into a power house. Skyworks has the simplest organization one can imagine in the industry. The recent force reduction is due to US-China trade war, key smartphone OEM volume decline, etc which impacted many companies and not Skyworks only.
Layoffs where at all the locations, not only Mass. This company is lead by beancounters. Not an innovative person in the whole of the top management.
WOW, Talk about hitting the nail squarely on the head, you must have worked there to know the company and management so well.
