Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Just ranting

Just venting here...does anyone else have a store manger who is the nicest person to you. But then when the DL shows up he/she treats you so much differently? Makes me not want to bust my a** anymore.

This is a common CVS problem. Everyone tends to act differently when a DL or higher comes around. Yet it shouldn't be that way. You should be that same nice person with or without the DL. If you can't be yourself in front of the DL, then it shows how the DL runs things in a not so nice way. Bottom line is cvs has created this culture of keeping stores in line by having DL's run their districts under a culture of fear and intimidation. Don't believe me? Look at how managers get worked up in a tizzy when a corporate visit comes up. It's all about putting on a good show for the boss. Because if the boss ain't happy you get raked over the coals, so they don't want to see the real you, they want to see the "I love CVS!" you. They ask you how are things? CVS requires you to say "GREAT!" even when there not. And something else to remember in regards to dl's... most DL's are bosses not leaders. And their is a difference between a boss and a leader.

I act different when my DL is around but I'm never a d--k to my people. My people act different when I'm around, as is evident in how much they get done with and without me.

I’m a Supervisor and a former manager. I do see a bit of a personality change in managers when field management is around. Maybe speak to your manager and let him or her know your concern. It can be disheartening when you feel you are not be presented fairly to the DL.
