I work at the stratford facilility and i read that WPB was closing and all the employees had to find jobs in other states. This was all supposed to happen by end of 2018. So alot if people heeded the warning and left. However..... its now 2/2019 and that place still open. Heard it was a scare tactic from upper management. I know this cause my dad works in florida and im in connecticut

The statement "core manufacturing competence resided" would imply that Connectitcut would be able to manufacture 1) On time , on schedule (2) within budget restraints.
Niether has been achieved in a long time. In 2018 alone, Ct had a short fall of six (6) uh-60 .
Clearly, ‘Scare Tactic’ got his name for the right reason. It does not make sense to build / mfg the 53k in multiple states and this was why the hard decision to move mfg to CT was made. This is where the core manufacturing competence resided. Beyond that, Lockheed is spending a lot of money upgrading CT to accommodate the 53k and this location will be a mfg facility, in addition to the worlds leader in rotor winged engineering for decades to come.

Scare Tactic? Worry about yourself son, WPB is going and Connecticut will be next. Stratford will become what we call an "engineering" facility, no manufacturing , no hourly wage jobs. The work is moving to lower wage states. Union voted in two tir wage system and Trump letting oversea "allies" manufacture UH-60. Keep the phrase "Scare Tactic"in mind when they come for YOUR job.
