I know engineers (highly skilled & experienced) that are in a lot of money. Is true that some of them turn the jobs down if less than £700. Few weeks ago, I asked an engineer if is available for a job (D. Eng.), day rate £600. Got back saying, he dosen’t work for a day rate less than £750/day. My client knows the engineer and they are going to pay him +£700/day to do the job because are not to many in the market with this set of skills and experience that is need it.
80k is bollocks . more likely 30-40k
Aberdeen agancys are still paying nothing like that.
Wellbore clean up engineers 400.00 a day
Thru tubbing engineers 450.00
Mud loggers 150.00
Crane operators 350.00 most are leaving offshore to work onshore for more money.
Pay your own travel, hotels, jobs about every 3 or 4 months and regular get canc The industry is in a total mess.
80k? Must be wireline eng
80k is less than before. thanks to numties who lost work
Well, even as service hands, most of them are on + £ 7000/ month. I know an engineer that won’t take jobs with a day rate less than £ 700/ day. Over +£ 80, 000/ year, I think that is not peanuts.
Most of them canna get jobs as geologists so work as service hands earning peanuts. Working class degree
Geology grads are ten a penny in North Sea.
