Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowe's forcing employees to go to Home Depot on company time.

Any other employees out there forced to go to Home Depot to get contractor s information on Lowe's company time?

How is this legal? Lowe's ASM said I "must go to home Depot, get contractor info, call them, and steal their business."

Meanwhile, I am not insured by Lowe's. I asked what happens if I am attacked, in an accident, etc. The ASM then lied and said "Lowe's pays for it."

Yeah right!!!

Again, how is any of this legal?

I received no memo, no program roll out, just word of mouth from an already established lying manager. But I'm told if I don't like it I can leave, or be fired.

Any advice out there? Oh yeah, I am currently interviewing elsewhere.

Our new lumber and pro services manager went today, she was spotted and asked to leave.

If I were HD I’d be p-ss-d that Lowes was acting like this. Our previous manager chased Home Depot Corp execs out of our store; she used to work for them.

Actually code of ethics Lowes has all managers sign online states that we are not allowed through deceit of lies of omission to gain advantage over competitors or vendors. Look it up on Lowesnet.

Our msm wanted us to have the PSE schedule a competitive in home at their personal home and save the estimate and forward it.

I cited the ethics code and quashed it. It didn’t feel right to me to deceive anyone like that.

Anything you do on the clock is covered by workers comp. Check your state laws, this would include off job site work such as company errands. Know the laws that protect you and cover your a33 in case they denied sending you. Have witness to the request or text confirmation when you are off site of the store.

Ask him to to send you the request in writing, including the response to your concerns. Either he will back off or be stupid enough to send it. Then forward it to your market HR and see what they say.
