Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Obviously, they are satisfied with the Infosys deal

I’m taking the rumor about further outsourcing very seriously. It’s something that’s very realistic and logical. Obviously, the earlier wave of outsourcing to Infosys work out for the VZ leadership, in terms of cost-saving and what was achieved with this move. So for anyone that could be affected I suggest that he/she prepares for this option.

It will never be brought back. Look at all other companies that have done this.

None have ever brought IT back wholesale. They might bring some functions, but

they would staff with contractors, not employees.

Yup. 1st is support/ops. Then will be dev. Architecture & planning might still stay. And then, 10 years from now after the 5G network is built out, they will start bringing it all back in house. The new CEO will announce "Dev is coming back to Verizon!" and folks will cheer. Balloons and confetti will fall out of the ceiling.

Yes they are satisfied on the cost savings. Everything else is secondary until something fails in production and they cant fix it quickly

Who said it worked out? However, that's irrelevant as to whether or not they will outsource more. I think that was always the plan.
