Not to worry, just keep kissing mgmt 's ars and you keep off the the rif list. Its not what you know, its whos ars you kiss.
Only layoffs I've seen are deadwood that needed to be shown the door. People doing their job tend to be left alone.
Oh, and skip the car - they depreciate as soon as you drive them off the lot. Trying to sell it when you get laid off is not such a great deal.
Well, if you remodel those bathrooms your house may sell quicker when you get laid off - just do it quickly so it doesn’t hold you up when you need to sell.
Yeah you guys said "layoffs coming after Q1!" then "layoffs coming after Q2!" now "layoffs coming after Q3!". Yawn.
"Have no illusions, there will be more significant layoffs after Q3 results are announced."

You're just making it up, you've got nothing.
Have no illusions, there will be more significant layoffs after Q3 results are announced.
Class Of Kids are not panning out. Company phone systems are a relic of the past and emailing and linked-in is just spamming companies. Avg contacts to set 1 appt is 62 tries per company (dials/emails)...to get 1 meeting.
There is no such thing as job security in the private sector. As you get older its best to get a Fed Gov job.

There HAVE been layoffs; several people that I know have been RIF'ed. I think that the poster that discusses layoffs mentioned no MAJOR layoffs. They are still laying off here and there from different departments.
Other people - what have YOU noticed from co-workers, former co-workers, and friends?
