Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Things are actually looking up at my store

I'm shocked to say, we are seeing an increase in foot traffic that actually translates to sales. I'm not ready to start celebrating just yet, but it's a move in the right direction.

Won't matter to the majority of shoppers because Sears stores are so few and far between now with all the closures.

Where I live, the nearest Sears store is now 80 to 100 miles away.....whereas previously there were a few Sears stores within a 20 minute drive of me.

I am not going to make a 200 mile round trip...or go online to shop Sears.com to wait for an item to ship to me when I can go to Lowes or Home Depot minutes away from my home and take the item home today.

And this is coming from a former long time Sears associate.

Nostalgic hipsters will turn up because they don’t want to see a retail icon fail, a wake up call. People buying big ticket stuff will come back because they’re not closing now. Tax returns are coming so now they can more safely buy mattresses and appliances. Eddie is doing installment SYW to make these people return weekly for months. Combo of factors.

We'll see how long the good nature last...

@XQq

The reason people would downvote is not because they don't want to see success, it's because they think the OP is lying their a** off about their store "looking up". Obvious propaganda.

The bankruptcy caught people’s attention, and now that the company is sticking around (or at least that’s what the media is saying), consumers are more confident in purchasing from Sears/Kmart again especially large items. Certainly a good sign

Why would anyone down vote this? It just goes to show how petty a few people are. They complain that it will fail, but then also complain when there is a sign of success.

Sounds like Eddie should have filed Bankruptcy years ago... just imagine how successful Sears would be today
