Like OP, my director advised me coming back as contractor with Infosys if I am struggling to locate my next job. Well, I were offered with more pay at two other companies before leaving here. I am ready moving on and using my new skills, not the skills which were asked for a promotion here that no one in the company has mastered it yet, but with the skills which are wanted currently in the market by majority of IT companies. I don’t consider coming back even if Infosys offers me a lot more right now.

This company is about to have a tsunami of issues. Some areas will have no impact, other will not be so lucky. I guarantee you they will be doing whatever they have to in order to get the talent and more importantly the ‘experience’ they will be lacking very soon.

They will not be changing the window from 6 to 3 months. However, under EXTREME circumstances, they can petition HR to waive it. No guarantee it would be approved though.

My group is hiring like crazy. though there are some external hires, most are internal. it looks like we're gonna have more staff that before the VSP.

i'm wondering if our leadership is trying to pad our ranks before the next wave(s) of RIF's

Its like a bad breakup. You are better off never getting back together. Plenty of fish in the sea. Farewell Verlieson.

We can do the job without you, but we have more contractor slots to fill and the team agrees you'd be a great choice. Even a high-skilled contractor has too big of a gap to make up in how we do things.
