Thread regarding Sears layoffs

And it begins....

Cuts confirmed via my dm. Softlines and sst will merge into one team. No more Softlines/hardlines leads, just statewide part time leads. Only full timers will be SM, Hardlines Sup., and new Member Services Sup. In the entire store. Total Leads will be assigned based on sales and profitability of the store. Start looking now people!

Hopefully all of softlines will go sooner, rather than later.

If there is any chance of sears making it, they have to get rid of softlines. Softlines was a "has-been" 20+ years ago and it's even worse now.

Many retailers now only hire part time leads/coordinators. Plus half of the managers in some stores are just overpaid associates since they are incapable of handling managerial duties. The plan is also to cut back on Softlines so they don’t need all this support anyways.

@XXNLk5d-sah Amen brotha I am so glad that my store closed. I can't imagine going another year. What we had left before we closed was SM, one ASM (for clothing and cashiers), supervisor for SST, and supervisor for HA/HI/mattresses/electronics.

If we were still open I would assume that either the ASM position gets cut or becomes a supervisor position. Also eliminating both softline leads, I assume SST coordinator and jewelry coordinator elminating?

God man I am glad we closed I can't bare to go another year with such limited hours and staff with our c-appy a-- SM. I feel sorry for whoever still works at Sears must be like being in hell itself.

Sorry folks but SST and Softlines are already supposed to be one team and in may stores already are. This will force the rest of the stores to catch up like they were originally intended. Unfortunately the elimination of Leads and it looks like full timers was not supposed to be part of the deal. In our store people will quit from both the SST side and the Softlines side.
