Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

20 for 20

I am optimistic that CVE share prices will get back to $20 or higher. With the implementation of strategic cost cutting measures in the deep basin, continued disciplined operations at FCCL, and heck maybe even market access (it’s bound to happen eventually for CVE especially having rail ability), we have a very good chance!

What are your thoughts?

In case you haven’t noticed - everything the executives do is self serving...... you get a bone and they get the cow

Seems a tad self serving for executives and other management who get the benefit of this incentive plus stock options that could be in the money at under $20...

@XYDBgSA-afjt and @XYDBgSA-3zqr the agreement, if you read it and all the info given to us, is intended to set out the various scenarios associated with hitting the target and how it would still establish a payout. In other words, there is protection in the agreement for the various things that can happen if you hit the target and a change takes place before the 3 - 5 years is up, ie: layoffs, quitting, takeover ... etc. Does that make more sense?

@XYDBgSA-4zmv ... "it is useless unless it happens". LMAO Yes.... genius, you are right. If we don't hit $20 for 20 at all within 5 years it doesn't matter - the agreement is, as you say, useless! If we do hit the 20 for 20 (noting the various scenarios set out) and you sign -- you get $$, if you don't sign, you don't get $$. Simple .... wow ~ why is this so difficult to understand?

@XYDBgSA-4zmv Did YOU read it or forget your glasses at home and sign the agreement after downing a bottle of whiskey to bury your sorrows.. that agreement is useless unless it happens, and so much can go wrong between now and then so 3zqr is right.

Oh come on @XYDBgSA-3zqr ..... did you even read the document? Yes, you have it wrong .... put on your glasses, go back and have a read and quit spreading fake news. Ridiculous.

Hey so I just signed the 20/20 agreement because it basically means nothing.. have I read it wrong? Basically you can get laid off or leave, the board can decide to cancel it, if CVE changes hands it can get canceled and above all we may never meet it. So no harm in signing right?

Anything is possible- some people hit the 00 on the roulette wheel.

They need a lot of luck- probably all of the following within 5 years: avoid an inevitable global recession, a prolonged war in an oil producing country, Venezuela and Mexico to keep declining, a pipeline to the coast, better odds hitting the 00), heavy oil pricing not getting crushed due to IMO sulfur regulations, COP not dumping their shares below $20.

The only way it happens is if we get a pipeline built. Other than that not a chance. No market access no big stock jump. Also remember ConocoPhillips owns millions of shares and the second it jumps above $15 they will sell and drop it again. They publicly stated that.
