Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Is It Union Time?

More-n-more whispers of stores and Solutions Specialists wanting to go Union in Northern New England. Rumor has it the Cape Cod store has been meeting with CWA reps and are considering voting soon. I’ve heard reps in other stores want the same but are waiting to see what happens. Quotas are high and morale is low, let’s see what’s going on out there?

Reps are just big a$$ complainers now and days. As one of the busiest stores in the country our quota is 33 adds and 36 upgrades. I wish I had a quota this low a few years ago. Ive been at the same store and my higuest quota was close to 70+adds and 70+ upgrades, with a bucket of over $13k. People that complain are ones who sit, use their phones and wait for a 5 line unicorn to come in.

Union... sure thats the answer. They will tell those evil corporations to pay you more for doing less and make them stop making you sell hums and insurance. Lets get the union! They are so great i think ill pay them 15% of my paycheck to them so they can tell those bullies to please stop. Yall sound like babies.

It has been union time for a long time. We have a short window of opportunity before things get way worse. But it has to be company wide. If only a few stores, or departments go union, very little chance of success.

For it to work, we need to unionize across channels, and make it so the entire business is penetrated. From call centers, indirect, retail, B2B, corporate, etc. Make it seem impossible for Verizon to do daily business without considering the rights of their employees.

If it is just pockets of the business as it is now the union has limited power.

Wir werden die Union um jeden Preis kämpfen, um Mutter Verizon zu schützen. Hans ist der Herrscher der neuen Welt. BOGEN UND BEFOLGEN.

Do think if Sears employees went union, it would change anything? Desperate people clinging to hope and what was.

Read up on what happened in Massachusetts. Few stores closed and changed into indirect. Those stores had just voted into the union. Union can't stop that. Hope y'all have back up plans because union doesn't help ya apply for new jobs

With the changes to the comp plan leadership being out of touch with the changing times of the business and this new attire it is time to do something ban together and join the union time to fight for good middle class jobs.
