Most other telcos saw this 10 to 15 years ago, and invested heavily in fiber. Where they used to have a larger footprint of workers in Hudson OH from the legacy Alltel days - their competitors installed fiber in the ground over 10 years ago - WIN just started 'getting serious' in putting in fiber the last 5 years. The City of Hudson asked the broadband providers - including WIN - a few years ago if they could wire up the city with fiber. Hudson wasn't satisfied with the replies from the telcos, so they installed their own fiber all over the city - connecting businesses, and soon local residents.

Why couldn't the Zombies invest in fiber in similar cities like this? Plenty of wealthy subscribers could have signed up. It's probably for the best - Hudson will run their own city network - having local workers to work with the customers - not somebody in India telling them to turn on/off the dial-up modem.
So many blown opportunities these clowns caused by not investing in upgrading to fiber 10 years earlier - with them now playing catch-up, it is too little too late. The shareholders (whoever still has this penny stock) are more important than customers.
