Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

reply to 1cus, they never give bad news at any of those meetings. i believe that was mentioned in an earlier post. Meetings are all bells and whistles and how good were doing. any major changes that affect us will be a bombshell dropped after feb 1st sometime. probably emails will be sent and CC will be had. I hope there are no major changes and we are all safe.

Feb 1st is the start of the year. It’s not a day where they will announce massive changes and then have those changes effective the same day. That’s not how it works, it not possible from a admin or operations standpoint.

They also do not use YBM to announce massive radical changes that will restructure the company to a audience of 1000s of people. These meetings are not designed do that. The last thing they want is a unfocused audience in shock at a meeting.

Makes no sense that they would withhold info at the Dallas meetings with the intention of releasing it at YBM.

Meeting was positive as they always are, re energize, go back to your stores recharged. That is every meeting . Feb,1st comes and goes, then we will all know for sure.

I dunno if thread was true or not but my store MGR did our calibration today due to being on PTO next week and it was only between hisself MHRM & MM and after he got out he told me I made the cut so.....I dunno

Media had no information leaked to them about the cos last year until the exact same day that we all took that conference call letting us know. So not saying that the rumors could in fact be bs. Just stating that the media not knowing yet isnt a surprise since no one in the stores have actually been told anything.

Can you imagine Doug McMillon downing bottles of vintage champange while sitting at his family's home computer in his underwear late at night typing furiously away? Starting a disinformation war is probably more effective than telling the truth. Rile up a bunch of people for a distraction and then replace policy before people are out of their drunken stupors.. The other aspect to consider is that there is no national news media reporting these alleged cuts to staffing at Walmart.

Clearly they would if they had info it was going to occur. If you want to believe that now 1000s of people (home office, MMs, MHRM, etc) know about it but no one has leaked it to the media then do so. I don’t think that is even remotely possible.

Btw: It's not trolling to call these jerks out on their doom prophesy bullsh!t, and for them to try spinning it like it is just makes their garbage that more obvious.

He is right none of what was posted was discussed in Dallas.

The only real “new” news out of the Dallas meeting was store manager incentive changing. Other than that everything covered was standard operational information.

Looks like at this point the rumor mill got out of control. Future is unknown but for now no real changes announced.
