Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Constant reorgs

I’m a relatively young worker who hasn’t been long at the company, so I suppose I still have the energy to take all the bull and frankly I don’t see SS as a lifetime career option, but I honestly don’t understand how the long-time workers can take the pressure of constants shifts and reorgs. Every year there is some sort of reorganization which has the task to mask layoffs that happen in the name of those same reorgs. Now they don’t even try to keep it a secret, so I suppose that they will happen on a much bigger scale. There are many companies in the business that offer better job security and even better work conditions. Why do folks force SS as a lifetime option and don’t at least try to go where the grass is greener.

@Post ID: @Xgl2IqU You said your a YOUNG WORKER which means your under 30yr.

Well a long time ago SS was the company every high school and college kid dreamed of working for

Once you were hired you could take classes change your career and move up the SS lader.

Yes it once was a good company to work for, who respected and treated all workers fairly.

Second answer for you, Most people over the age of 50yr who have some how survived stay because they are making good Money, Have 4 to 5 weeks vacation. And sadly 90% of companies will not hire people over the age of 50yr.

So that is why the few people only 50yr who have survived put up with the stress and c-ap.

Third as a young worker, do you have your own apartment , or do you have roommates or still live at home ?
