Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Service

Just to clarify all of you who think a&e is in any kind of danger. When the chapter 11 was filed, the next day all techs received a message on the work cells from corporate/lampert passed down by management stating that service was not going to be affected at all throughout the entire bankruptcy proceedings. We are not or never were in danger of closing or being sold off.

BR2DGM, yes it was a dog and pony show. I was a DHRM and saw this countless times.

The funny part was just a week before they banned selling protection plans they handed out fliers to everyone coaching us on what to say to bankruptcy objections when trying to sell it to customers

"Store visits from RVPs and above were always a sham. Hours of labor used and assistance from other stores to get the store looking acceptable or like a museum for a visit."

They should've done unannounced visits. And send around unannounced 'secret shoppers' too. But they didn't really want to know how anything was going, aside from PA/CC/SYW numbers.

Why did they put a hault on selling PA's for over a month in stores anyway after the BK filing if it was going to be unaffected

Upper management also lied for years telling stores and associates that protection agreements would not be impacted by a bankruptcy. Which turned out to be another lie. The BIGGEST reason Sears has fallen is due to a lack of integrity from the top down. Store visits from RVPs and above were always a sham. Hours of labor used and assistance from other stores to get the store looking acceptable or like a museum for a visit. Then everyone acted like they had won a prize when it was over. Senior leadership got their warm and fuzzy that they were doing a good job, even though they knew it was a dog and pony show. I could go on, bottom line is Sears cultivated a culture of lies for the 20 years I worked there and even as I personally fought against it I too was part of the problem, mainly because I stayed. Nothing will change with this company because field leadership loves the lie.

They probably did tell them that, do they wouldn't have techs quitting in high numbers.

Let's not forget where A&E came from.

Don't give the OP anymore responses. He's obviously just a troll. No one can be that stupid... or can they?

A. A&E as a whole and all of it’s constituent units are part of the BK proceedings. One of the really low numbered dockets (2 or 3 IIRC) has a listing of all the units of SHC that are part of the process. You’re on it. If the whole thing goes into liquidation, that will necessarily include A&E.

B. You have been sold off. SHC is selling you to Eddie. You were also this close to being sold off to a joint bid of Ace and someone else but for whatever reason the SHC board decided that it was best to keep everything together and sell it to Eddie.

C. Stores were also first told that nothing would change. Then we got deluged with merch meant for ~900 stores coming into ~500. Then they said stores on the 505 store go forward list were “safe.” Then they announced 80 more closures and even more layoffs. The best policy with management right now is that if their lips are moving, they’re lying until proven otherwise.

Information from October might as well as have been handed down from the Aztecs for how relevant it still is
