$952M loss in Q4, so wouldn't be surprised to see more layoffs this year still
Have WARN notices gone out? Work for NLSN in USA and haven't heard of layoff,
There were massive layoff this week and last week across ALL areas of the organization including groups that have had solid years of growth. This is a documented fact. From a friend who works at this company , I was told the company is doing very poorly and is not adapting to changes in the industry. I wanted to join the company but he said it would be a bad long term idea. He also said the company refuses to acquire and retain top and experienced talent to move the company forward. This will become even more evident in the next few years. The new CEO is a IBM reject who will ca$h in from driving the company into the ground and selling it to the PE and VC firms as others on this thread have pointed out.
Can anyone give more detail - this is all very generic
Facts or Evidence is better for many of us to read or make decisions on
The new CEO has a very hard job as we are in a bad place but also IRI, Kantar have caught cold - so the entire Industry is changing very quickly
For everyone thats getting let go, make sure you absolutely DESTROY these yahoos on Glassdoor. Dont let someone new suffer your fate. ZERO the CEO ratings.
Layoffs announced this week across both sides of the business including groups in Watch that were highly profitable and had strong growth! Not sure how many at this point...
Don't forget his stock option grant.
Also, look at the language about what happens in a change of control situation. All of his options vest immediately and he gets a golden parachute. What do you think Watson's reject is going to try an do? The hard work of making this company run or the easy job of courting some PE/VC vultures to pick it apart so he gets his millions asap? Duh.
BTW. The mass layoffs continued today
Position Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board
Base Salary $1,300,000
Annual Bonus Target $1,925,000
It is starting. Splitting the org was the first step. Now there are people that have been given a couple of months to find a new job. Yet there are none to be had. This is going to get ugly and the liar CEO is going to get a golden parachute as soon as he can gut us all.
Will be like seal pups on the ice !!!
When are Q4 numbers expected must be soon?
Also, can you give some detail as to which area the statement is very generic - Watch or Buy? Which Region?
What business areas?
This is business as usual at Nielsen.
