What did you learn from the California EDD? Do you qualify for unemployment benefits?
correct, ESP was not a voluntary termination
Does ESP (from Infosys Rebadge) change this as it is not voluntary to resign from VZ?
New York __ no unemployment until after the severance period ends
so after 60 weeks) .
This is the case for any version of rif etc. for eg NY VZ employees who left pre the 60 week severance or pre sept2018 were not approved
and were told in writing from ny state unemployment that one can reapply after the severance period ends.
When completing the unemployment application even if one does not respond with the number of weeks of severance, ny state gets the info and count of weeks and severance dollar amount from VZ.
@XlVDCeC-3sok depending on your outcome share it here. I recorded a number of conference calls in which leadership self identified as HR by name then stated they wouldn't dispute unemployment.
You don't pay unemployment taxes. Your employer does.
Had my California EDD call, VZ protested the claim saying my resignation was voulantary. Next step is to send in the severance agreement for California to decide. Wish I hadn’t filed now, just thought it was worth a try after paying in since I was 18.
did anyone in NJ or NY get it?
