I would not recommend copying any praise or sending emails to yourself.
If you took the ethics course you would know that they would be useless cause they can’t be proven. Only a GM legal rep can give a reference. As far as emailing GM business emails to your home email account... doesn’t sound very smart to me.
It's a cute article, but basically just saying update your resume, network, and aggressively apply for new positions while trying not to go broke.
In reality, everyone should be saving any sort of presentations, work documentations, training docs., etc. that may be useful in your next position. Do this immediately because all indications are by this time next week, a portion of us will no longer have access to GM Internal Documentation.
Also print out any praise or GM Recognition that you received. You'll lose access to your company email so if there's something worth saving, forward it to your personal email this week or print out a hard copy.
There are steps everyone should be doing this week. If you're resume, skills, general internet presence is not already up to date, then you haven't been paying attention to the writing on the walls.

If I get laid off, it's a totally financial decision. I am in 7B but am very good at my job. They gave me a promotion to reward my talent and hard working but then kick me out of the door because I got a promotion. Haha. Ironic!
