Academy lays people off and immediately terminates their health insurance that day. Then on the last pay check they charge you health insurance. Health insurance is prepaid, meaning you pay for the next two weeks of coverage. You do not receive coverage and then pay for it. But when Academy lays people off they claim you used the health insurance and so you need to pay for it. But you didn't, you paid for it and instead of getting what you paid for, the health insurance was terminated and you were double charged. Call the HR/Payroll department ask them to explain how the health insurance payments existed and why the health insurance you paid for was cancelled and how you were double charged. You will get angry and annoyed non-answer, because the truth is they stole money from every single individual they laid off. Give them a call....it will surprise you how they are unable to actually answer your question.

And what's the deal with airline peanuts?
Hey Ron Jeremy, yea they get annoyed because they have to explain basic math, but math does not answer the question, nor is in anyway necessary to use in this situation. Which would explain why they are super upset dealing with the likes of ignorant ole' me. PS it is NOT about basic math. It is payroll deductions. Medical insurance is prepaid and not post paid, let me simplify that for you....first you pay for it and then you get it NOT first you get it and then you pay for it.
Had you actually understood the post you would have realized that math has nothing to do with the problem. Dates do....the date that people started to pay for medical insurance and the date that they were covered under medical insurance....the date that their insurance was cancelled and when they stopped paying for medical insurance....but hey maybe basic math is as far as they can go in their abilities …. if you want to claim basic math problem, that would basically explain your ignorance.
But hey what do I know...I am just your run of the mill bitter person....oh wait, I could care less...I just thought for the ones who are about the be let go...be aware that day you lose health care coverage. So if your child needs their asthma medicine or any other important medical needs...get them taken care of now....not later....and then also be aware they are charging you for what you already paid for and were cut off from receiving.
Hey Ron Jeremy, how about you go f--- yourself? Why are you on this f---ing site anyway? All you do is leave asshat comments. F--- off. The basic math obviously needs to be explained to the accounting department. And severance is expected in a layoff and legally required in most cases. Dumb a--.
You get an annoyed answer because they’re probably tired of explaining basic math and payroll deduction to bitter sh--e stirrers who are lucky to be getting severance in the first place.
Glad I am not the only one who noticed that. They also deduct it from your severance.
