Asm showing favortism

In the last few months have been constantly being bullied and treated unfairly by supervisor. They have brought in someone into the dept to work who used be their dept mgr in the past that they think is the best dept mgr ever. They take special breaks together, have secret meetings, and generally share confidential information with each other. Since the Asm brought the former dept mgr back they have been targetting me with by screaming at me on the salesfloor, belittling me to former dept mgr where I have heard the conversation. I recently turned down another dept mgr position and immediately received hostile conversations from Asm infront of former dept mgr. I been told store mgr im one of the best dept mgrs in the store. Ive had the market mgr tell me the same. What should do about this unethical treatment?

Ignore that post telling you to stay quiet. Use the Open Door Policy, it is your best bet. I’ve seen it work many many times.

Honestly you should talk to the store manager or market manager. Maybe ask them if they think it's necessary for you to transfer. That should get them to have a serious conversation with the ASM. The ASM really isn't in a strong position.

To the OP: all your fears and suspicions about going above this asm are well founded. Your best bet is to just keep your head low, your mouth quiet and be looking for a way out that doesn't = your getting fired. Because yes, that asm will retaliate indirectly, and not a thing will happen to them. You'll just be out of a job.

The open door policy used to work, but wm has since stream lined everything to where nobody will help you with anything----unless you're a female or minority of some protected class who could sue them. Plausible deniability and feasible loss are their only focus now.

If you use the open door and the ASM then turns that back on you it will not go well for them. That’s one of the things that can lead to a ASM losing their job.

If the ASM is dumb enough to do that then let nature take its course and let them terminate themselves.
