Aerospace Daily & Defense Report Jan 30, 2019 , p. 2

Michael Bruno

EEOC and ethics charges and such DO NOT protect you, they make you more likeky to get laid off. In layoffs they typically target high dollar employees and troublemakers that jack up expenses.

If you make a EEO, Wage or Ethics charge you will be more protected in a downsizing, so open the closet door and let them roll

They claim to want great talent and pay well. With the recent merit raise everyone got they will most likely be looking for a few more engineers. The merit raise for 2019 was just a slap in the face. 2.5% or less.

Are s----up blowhards like Christin Campbell still fooling L3 leadership of their alleged business acumen and greatness? I thought so... Boy, MVS sure left a mess. Hopefully Kubasik can keep his d--k out of the secretaries and focus on the business at hand, too bad the wrong heads are going to roll out the door again and the ranks will continue to bloat using the "plantation" philosophy.

Seems all they wanted was engineers. Which follows the plan of becoming a design engineering facility with no manufacturing.

Just heard on the news that CS West was hiring 250. Pisses me right off having been laid off a while ago. I'm doing just fine though and never happier. I feel for all those still putting in their time in hell.

Here is further information from Kubasik that I found about the 12% that was given on 1-16-2019. You can read the report here, https://seekingalpha.com/article/4236486-l3-technologies-lll-ceo-chris-kubasik-q4-2018-results-earnings-call-transcript?page=1 . It's 12 pages long, fyi.

"We are increasing employee training to accelerate adoption of new tools and system, and we are implementing a series of L365 initiative to improve the efficiency of our operations. As we implement these corrective actions, we are taking steps this quarter to right size the business. Specifically, we are eliminating consultants and contract-labor and reducing the total staff an estimated 12%, commencing with voluntary reduction and then with an involuntary reduction in force, if necessary." (the original text had grammatical errors from an audio-to-text conversion).

My guess is that this will be announced in early-March 2019 from the voluntary reduction email, followed by the involuntary two weeks later.

If you got a 2.0 to 2.5 on your PDA, you can bet you will be gone! Of if you have any HR complaints against you, or you create a hostile-environment with other coworkers, you will be gone. You are the low-hanging fruit. In fact, that reminds to put in a few more words to HR about certain people...

The tough-decisions will be made at middle-management as it is excessive.

Another guess is that will primarily effect overhead staff and not direct-cost employees. So I would bet a lot of manufacturing, some financial "analysts" (what a joke they are), planners, and others in operations and unneeded quality "engineers".

What else... what else? On a side-note, I had a meeting in Building A in Salt Lake City the other week and the downstairs bathrooms smells so bad! No fans, no music; just pure death smells and people sounding like machine-guns in those stalls! It shouldn't be necessary to don a nuclear hazmat suit when going to that bathroom. Geez folks!! It's embarrassing to be outside that door and hear people unload their guts and having everyone in the nearby area hear you! I almost said something to the guy who sounded like a howitzer going off...gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah... boom! boom! boom! That guy definitely needed to go home after that event and take a shower in pure bleach. And that poor L3 guard who has to listen to all of the employees echoing their guts in that Building's Lobby the entire day.

Guard: "Welcome customers from Lockheed and Boeing to L3, so and so will be right with you"

Someone opens the door from that bathroom: "gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah gah boom boom boom splash splah gah gah gah gah gah gah"

Guest: "we're under fire, everyone duck down!! machine gun fire!!"

Nasty Employee: "uhh sorry everyone, that was just me in that bathroom and I pushed so hard that my guts fell out because I eat uncooked nasty-smelling food, and never wash my hands after using the bathroom, and always pick my nose and eat it, and lick the cheato dust off of my fingers and then touch my keyboard again and then shake your hands...hmm...and I always seem to be sick too and I can't find out why..."

Guard: Doesn't say a word and shakes his head in disgust.

Like any mergers, they will layoffs 25% of the workforce due to the redundancy in all departments.

The normal merger will reduce the workforce in salary by 23% within the first year of the merger.

That sounds more than a bit high. Say what you will about L3 and Harris but they do have a highly skilled workforce. Beyond HQs and support staff, I don't think they want to cut quite that much.

And to say you don't need extra VPs... that, Sir, is an OUTRAGE!!!

The merger has to exact a toll on redundancy of positions, positions in HR, Finance, Accounting, IT are the targets, look for those that are getting paid the most to be targeted to get the biggest bang for your buck, who needs extra VP's or benefits or IT people. The normal merger will reduce the workforce in salary by 23% within the first year of the merger. Get ready and hold on tight.
