Good on you. Lots of people learned back in 09. Many even before.

I was one of their let go emplyee in 2009- back then it was about the management liked you or not - they screwed up alot of peoolws lives with small kids and debt. They do not care but the upper brass got to finish out and collect nice retirement . i say F them all and boycott the gm brand period , now i drive BMW and dont look back only in the rearview mirror!

Sh-- happens sh-- happens market is still strong. Jobs are plentiful. The only problem is they may not be in Michigan.
It's painful to let go, but you can recover and move forward. Hang in there.
