Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

I am split

Not sure if layoffs.com provide us with value or not? How would this layoff look like without all of us constantly checking and updating? Are we better off? Not trolling, it's a honest question. I am really split, sometimes I like it and sometimes I think I should not be checking it at all. Thoughts?

At first it was trolls. When things got more real there was good info. This site is more transparent, informative and compassionate than Mary Barra and Randy Snott.

Because this is the real GM Family... Not the executives sitting up on their ivory tower. They have no idea what family is.

What a big baby! People are getting fired and you are crying if you should or should not read about what's happening? And then you make it worse that you want to talk about your feelings and discuss with others - when that's not the real issue! The issue is people are losing their jobs in such a horrible manner! You seem like one of those GM mgrs who wants to have a workgroup to discuss the issue instead of just getting to business and solve the damn issue! Whether this website existed or not, the firings would still be taking place! Get a clue!

Real-time info is the closest we have to transparency because GM clearly isn't providing it.

One possible benefit: Shared experiences from those who have seen good, hard-working people laid off changes the narrative that all those let go were low-performers, which is important for these workers as they seek new employment. It is also a lesson for those who survive.

It's a shoulder to cry on because your wife can't share your experience completely.

Easy solution. Don't come to the site if it is distracting you. You still have free will.

You're here so you must have assigned it some kind of value, whatever that is.

I believe it has value. Good facts and recommendations in addition to encouragement for others. Seems to be of more value after getting laid off. I looked less before the axe.

It's not layoff.com it's THElayoff.com - anyhow, it's easy to stop visiting, just do not point your browser to it
