I have not stepped foot inside a Sam's or Walmart since my club closed last year. It's a lot easier than you think. I do not miss anything about the place either. Well some of my associates, and that's really it. It has been a huge step up for myself and my family. Plus I go to Costco about every other week. Life is all kinds of better outside the club. Please understand that. If you're thinking about taking the leap, just do it.

My opinion is Sams is going to dump a pile of $$ in the clubs this year in a last ditch effort to gain more customers but it won’t work for the long haul. We have lost our way a long time ago and our customers want more than a remodel, they want their old club back, smiles, customer service, etc. We better get more robots soon because we’re losing associates.Full circle indeed.
If you do decide to leave knowing how things once were, you began to see the overall picture of how toxic things have developed over the years. You really knew while working there, but just continued to roll with it, you see things clearer once you're on the outside..
I agree. Sam’s club is not the last stop.
When our Club closed, we decided to say goodbye to Sams and WM too - never looked back. Our friends and family gave up their memberships and wont shop at WM to show support. I understand it is just business, but there is a right way and wrong way to run a business, and WalMart seems to always choose the wrong way. Managers and supervisors are moved up with no thought on whether they have the skill or ability to manage people. Wouldn’t be so bad if they were taught the skills after they were promoted, but they are not. There is a reason Costco is successful and Sams is not - Costco provides good quality products at a good price and they have happy workers. This simply formula provides a better shopping experience for their customers.
I left after 20 plus years. It was hard to leave the $$$. But the direction Sam's is heading was no longer where I wanted to be. Money doesn't buy happiness. Step out of your comfort zone don't let Sam's keep you down.
