Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Severance payments

I haven't seen it spelled out anywhere, so I want to share the severance information from the last round of layoffs, hope it can put someone else's mind at ease. I believe that any one of you can be back on your feet in under 4 months. 12th is what I'm hearing.

Less than 5 years: 4 months

5-9 years: 6 months

10-19 years: 8 months

20-29 years: 10 months

30+ years: 12 months.

Retention stock is pro-rated 25% for each full year vested.

An additional bonus is awarded, depending on your level. Generally %25 of a typical year per completed quarter.

Is it true that by signing the severance package you are no longer able to apply for future openings? If there ever are any..

True on health care for non agreement. I was let go October 23 and healthcare ran out October 31. Yes on cobra for $1600 per month for medical/d--gs only. No dental or vision. This is for the high deductible plan.

So it sounds like what has been written in this post as a management employee, one can expect a decent severance but maybe not a bonus this go around since we haven’t completed a quarter this year? But at least we get the annual bonus that will be paid out Monday. Also to add to the post as a management employee I heard healthcare will term at the end of the month in which you are let go. Of course you can continue it through cobra if need be.

can confirm, no "buyout" if you go back to your craft. you're still employed by the UPRR, no severance is given when exorcizing your rights.

Confirming this info is correct in regards to last October.

When they did the buyouts in 2017, if you went back to agreement you did not get a nonagreeement severence. So my assumption is no.
