JLL building survey - what’s up?

Has anyone had the JLL people to their remaining open offices? We had them in last week and it was so weird watching them go around and record everything. Upper management didn’t say much about why they were there or what happens next. Wondering if any other locations have had them come through.

We got an email when JLL came to our building. The email just said they were assessing real estate for Xerox. They presented it as a good thing... but that’s about it.

For those who feel in the dark, ask around. Ask your executives. Just be direct. You might be surprised what you can learn. I’ll just ask our HR or veeps and see what they say. Some will talk.

We haven't heard anything about JLL or HCL at GIS, XBS, whatever you want to call us. The only information we get is from this site and it's hard to figure out if it's true or not since either no one knows the real story or no in is talking. Anyone know anything about what is to be done with GIS or how quickly things will move?

I wonder if the JLL visits are being done in the same order of the upcoming HCL visits. How quick do you think this is all going to happen?

Talk about a company / contact taking advantage of Xerox Webster . How many employees does J.L.L have on site management alone and workers . Empty buildings they are maintaining. I guarantee they do not have enough work for an eight hour day . Or a 40 hour work week . Bet you can find them walking around doing nothing or sitting around . Look at there work orders . The write their own . One guy gets 6 hours a day to sweep a boiler room . Money well spent . Maybe we should look at the contractor instead of the Xerox workers .

A few years ago at a different company, we went through the same process. A similar company to JLL went through out entire office (about 12 floors in a skysc-aper) and measured everything. They also set-up motion sectors in the foyer, hallways, kitchens, copy/supply rooms, conference rooms, individual offices, and cubes to monitor usage. A tad big-brother syndrome and everyone was forced to sign a letter stating that they were being recorded in this fashion. End of the day, the company chose to move to a new building and and took-up 2/3 of their previous space and saved a couple of million a year while employees got to work from home more often. That's a part of what these company's do.

They are coming to our office soon. They want to map our building? It's an engineering company JLL hired.

We had them in yesterday at our location. There were two people recording our entire building - every square inch of it.

From what I know, they are assessing the locations that are to stay open. They may opt to

Make repairs or move the location.

Really! What locations are JLL (or other scavengers), doing surveys?

There were a couple of people with clipboards even looking at the refrigerators in the breakroom. This was building 205 in Webster.

Look for new equipment tags. Go to your printers and look at the names of printed docs.

As El Segundo was being closed down, these same types went around cataloging rqipment, office space, even those 6 foot dividers in open areas. A 3rd party company will buy them and sell for sc-ap. Big market for good office equipment and furniture.

Sometimes these guys know more than you think. When the A&E building was being hawked, we found the exact date for the pre-move layoff from these guys. Also the date for the move of the last crew members to M1. Keep your ears open.
