LL4’s were hit today at PDC. One of them was one of the smartest, high performing, most helpful, and nicest guys I’ve ever worked with. He had about 24 years with Ford and is in his mid 50’s. We are stunned wondering what the rational was for this decision. The anxiety is high for us in the next level. This s---s!
That is the saddest thing about how all of this is being handled. Back in 2006-8 you could argue that some very talented people who happened to have too low service in position or TWA or other factor that contributed to them getting caught up in the layoffs. Yesterday I saw some of the most amazing and talented leaders leave the organization. This is going to be a challenging next few months (at least).
Posters are correct both bldg 5 and 3 got hit today. layoffs were very small and affecting LL4s
Building 3 had some layoffs of supervisors and managers yesterday and today.
One was (IMHO) was one of the best supervisors in the building. He is 55 with 27 years.
They were axing supervisors in building 5 today...
Yeah. I agree. I don’t work there but this is not how to do a mass lay-off. It takes months to execute and with the 6+ month build-up creates gigantic anxiety for their employees.
This has to be the first lay-off I’ve heard of where the manager gets fired first.
