Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Is it just me...

...or does it feel that the only people working at Union Pacific are those who have not been hired by other companies yet?

Because everybody I know has already left or is looking. They got their entire workforce looking for new jobs. Really good business practice...

To the a--hole making the cpuncil bluffs comment.... Im assuming your transportation whether its management or traincrew. Either way youre either a vollege hire who doesnt know sh-- about the engines and will stare at the sight glass waiting for water to drop with a road guy because your crew/relay said it was low and you believed them or some other fake issue. Really they're f---ing you to sit around and make extra $$$$. And that's if yuou guys even let the engines get serviced and don't run 'em off. And for you crew guys, not all, but most yeah we all know you'll break sh-- that was fine, cut seals, f--- with eltronics and breakers to sit on your ads and tie up and go home with pay or to get that overtime like when you wait for cabs. Face it boys secrets out and smells like b.s.

You don’t need no training and no pilot. Get on that train and go. What do you mean there’s been an accident? Why didn’t you ask for a pilot??

yeah...it's called technical training. UP doesn't want to invest in their employees knowledge and skillsets. Why invest in a resource you're going to throw to the curb at the drop of a hat. The only thing they seem to want to invest in is "investor relations" and padding their own greedy pockets. Train gets delayed...oh well. Someone gets killed...oh well, too bad (too bad we have to pay out to family).

You need real schooling? Is that why the Council Bluffs Diesel House can’t seem to work a set of power without needing to send somebody out once it’s on the train to try and cobble it enough to get it out of town?

It's just you. Most of the people that are left are the one's that got hired right out of high school and they have to put up with the BS because the only training under their belts us what UP gave them. The company was smart back in 2010 by hiring trained people, now most of these people are gone. You can't fix a locomotive with UP training you need real schooling to figure out how this locos work.
