Anyone who thinks that this is a sole wave and who survived is safe now, is being naive. So my question is when can we expect a second wave? Maybe they will try to do it in smaller portions and in a longer period of time, avoiding the sensation of an organized wave/ Thoughts???

Green card is not company and/ or role specific. That’s why you need to sign contract stating you will pay back SAP if you leave before x time.
I don’t know whether SAP contract requires repayment of legal fees in a layoff or VERP. Just review the contract you signed. Before green card is issued - my understand is bad news.
Good luck.
Does any one know if green card/PERM filing gets impacted after these layoffs?
less likely German employees will accept a package as their economy is not looking good.
More cuts will need to come from other countries to make the numbers.

If we'll see another drop in the stock market layoffs will occur all over..
What was communicated publicly “fitness program”..retooling and the reality of the layoffs —real reasons are not the same. Using “stragic shift” as justification sounds good to press and analysts. UBM and other competitors use these phrases too as they “ downsize”. There is some relationship, but do not be naive, this is NOT just due to change in strategy, look at the real financial factors. It’s a numbers game, strategy reduce average age of employees, regardless of qualifications, experience and strategic fit. If interested look and watch. Hopefully there will not be further major layoffs this year, but realize layoffs ( smaller, less visible and not public) frequently happen in the Americas.
These layoffs were not done for financial reasons, they were done for strategy reasons. There won’t be additional layoffs in 2019 for North America. And, no, this is not naive. The Board communicated these reductions to the market before they executed on them. The stock price has done well as a result. A second round would have significant ramifications on the stock price and market confidence.
It will depend on first quarter sales.
If deals were delayed or lost due to poor execution of layoffs - then we subsequent rounds will be necessary.
I am left thinking about an old Dilbert (?) quote: “beatings will continue until moral improves”.
