Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Hinkle closure in the works.

They’ve been cutting every 2-4 weeks at Hinkle in preparation for the closure. They’ll keep a couple guys per shift to take care of run through trains. All work will be sent elsewhere, Albina/Roseville.

If you work at Hinkle and are not the top 2-3 on your roster, the end is near.

The people who work at Hinkle are strikingly aware of what is going down at Hinkle! Closure, no, cut down to a switching stop, yes. Huge savings put in place to keep corporate axe from cutting it off. UP will discover why Hinkle is there, and the need to put it back online will come someday. Until then we do Blackrock's bidding.

Hinkle has no purpose anymore but a stop n go fuel spot. They don’t need or want the shop there. Already heard it will be reduced to a skeleton crew at best. Mass layoffs incoming.
