Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Any layoff news?

It has been really quiet here on layoffs - which I'm taking as a good thing. Do we know if anything is coming or is this a time to relax at least for a while?

The bonus comes out the end of the month. Enjoy it, and then start to look for a job. Dell has no options left other than selling off pieces of the business and doing massive layoffs. I worked for Dell for 17 years, before leaving in 2015. During that time I saw no change in their business model, which was to wait for someone else to come up with a new idea and then try to copy it, while spending almost nothing on R&D that would help the company. The only thing that has been successful is there high end monitors which they do not design, and desktop PC's (which they also do not design) and there are no margins on the sale of these. Their main claim to fame is their ability to buy up companies and then run them into the ground before selling them for pennies on the dollar due to the lack of R&D spending. I don't quite understand why anyone stays at Dell unless they have zero talent and have no options to go to work for a real Hi-Tech company.

There were some around various divisions within the last 2 weeks.

I've been surprised to see no mention here too.
