Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Severance?

Looking for information from clubs whose nightcrew has recently gone to days in the last few months.

Were you offered a severance? Did you qualify for unemployment? Please no speculation, looking for accurate information. Thanks

Most people work third shift because that’s what their availability is. If third shift hours are being eliminated and u don’t have the availability to go to days, then guess what, uve been laid off. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out folks. They are telling people this so that people who have to work third shift hours will look for another job thus lowering the chance of having to pay out unemployment benefits.

In the state of Tennessee you can not get unemployment because the severance is worded as "voluntary separation of employment". Sad.

Or GM told the whole night crew that when we make the transition over to day stocking, we will not be offered a severance. They are not eliminating our position, they are just switching hours. That’s what he told us.
