Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Can we expect a reorg after the merger?

I understand that all the positions that overlap with Anadarko’s are potentially in danger, more or less. Aside from that I’m wondering will the merger encourage a company wide reorganization?Seems logical that the management will want to align the company structure with the new interests of the company that emerge with the acquisition.

Chevroids always grow back. Like dead wood from the try... blocking out the light of thriving branches

The short answer is yes. The majority of layoffs will be from Anadarko, but there will be some Chevroids getting the boot. Be thankful that you are at Chevron. Those Anadarko people are the ones who should be very worried, and for good reason.

I’m not too sure of a reorganization after the acquisition is done. Definitely some level of layoffs will happen, some personnel will be let go right away and the reminder will be let go about a year later. Asset sales will result in personnel going with the asset. Those staff employees in The Woodlands office that will go are those with redundant job positions, the unproductive, and the hated.

It is not a merger, they are buying anadarko for the assets, project queue, and midstream infrastructure in the Permian.
