perhaps their spokesperson needs to retake the "winning with integrity" training...
Posted by spouse of VSP taker. When I read the article mentioned a couple of things jumped out at me as a sales and marketing kind of guy.

The GM spokesperson downplayed the sales achievements of Ram Trucks and attributed Ram's success to how hard they promoted their vehicle. Excuse me, isn't that what you need to do to sell vehicles. Promote, advertise, sell and produce a high quality vehicle that is superior to the competition.

The GM spokesperson then commented with hopes of returning to the #2 position behind Ford in truck sales. No desire to be #1. Just settle for #2.
I'll do my part for May sales figures. Just ordered my new Ram 1500 and excited for it to arrive. Another lost, long-time GM truck buyer.
All of the big three will topple as customer sentiment shifts from overpriced trucks back to cars. Normal people can’t afford what the big three want to produce. The Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese companies have cornered the market on affordable, reliable cars.
The big three are all dancing too close to the flames of Crazy Town. Just put a fork in them, they are done. Any youngsters coming into the american automotive industry are fools if they think it will be a long term gig.
Fire Mary
GM sales tactic = fire everyone , aleinate all customers. Business 150 class TQM , total quality management , take care of customer! Continues improvement GM , the things that are preached in the company are not followed.
It's very simple. Build a better truck.
The new GM trucks are very new, but not changed enough to keep up with Ram.
You'll notice the chart that shows the trend for the last eight or so years. It's in decline for GM. This is the future for GM, as their market share will always decline as it has for decades. It is only inevitable.
The people affected by this company never forget, whether last layoff, or layoffs decades ago. They won't forget Flint, Pontiac, or Poletown. The people will NOT forget. GM will alienate customers for life, generation by generation, and at times, they will also continue to build advocates against their products, for life.
Word of mouth, both positive and negative, works both ways.
