Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Leaving for me was the best option

Leaving for me was the best option. I will not put down verizon but after 4 years it was not for me. Previous I had almost 18 with telecom with a different company. I have tons of skills and gobs of experience and i was young. My time there my potential was never used. I never really advanced or moved even tho i worked hard hey i was the 4th highest rated performer in my dept nationwide. Never once told great job. Never once given a meaningful project to advance my carrer path. Ask to mentor never was the time found. 100% pure stat builder was me with second shift for ever. I seen plenty of colleagoes move up. Am I bitter? Inside verizon working there it really upset me to see others move up but it made me work even harder and better than ever. Outside verizon on a new job i see what was really happening. Leaving was best for me because after everything I was not Verizon I was not part of the "company fabric" or the culture. I just did a good job and worked there. But i was never accepted into the big red machine. Some people works their life away at a place where they "just work". That is no way to live life or be. I wish all who stays luck and love. I wish all those in my position of just being there strength because I do thank you for all you do. I pray for those who are there going to be laidoff that you have the power to get up and rise above. This i know is my last post good luck to all. Time to start living my new life.

Went through the same things as @YD86Qru-zdf . I imagine there are a lot more of yo that got the same treatment.

I heard that Verizon is best described as "Game of Phones". A lot of people talking a lot of smack and a lot of trash about telecom land yet most of them without a clue which tree dial-tone comes from. Its funny actually.

The people left behind might be getting promoted, but the people who could leave and get better jobs did just that. Everyone is is stuck due to education or job market.

Paragraph breaks can be your friend.

Also why are you still here spending all this time posting on the Verizon board? It's like stalking your ex girlfriend. If you have a new job you like better, congratulations and move on.

Most employees that work harder and know the job better never move up,in 30 years I've seen people move up cus they have a family member that is upper management somewhere in the company or they have friends ,or have the gift of gab,or who likes their accent ,or who is a looker,I have seen it all .its never the guy or gal that's the hardest worker, its always the people that like to get over and don't know sh--..that get pushed to the top,and then when they get there they think everyone below them is a get over like they once were, that's how Verizon works...so now I dont give them 110% I give them enough to stay out of trouble
