Have any contract people that were let go been called back?

Asqa- after over a decade of being contract I was almost hired last summer , position opened up and I was fully ready to move into it , trained and more that capable. My boss refused to release me from my position and mind you it was within my group , so not only could I not advance and finally become the prized blue badge , I was fired six months later because I was a contract head.
Contractors never made sense.
Either hire the person with full benefits, or don't.
There's no reason to have long term contractors except to screw them out of benefits so the company gets cheaper employees.
In regard to GM having contract employees, it's gonna be a long wait and or if ever. Recruiters from aeroteck , Bartech and the lot are saying it's crikets at GM , stone cold quiet.
Haven't heard of anyone going back, although I did hear the rumors from multiple sources.
If they ever called me back I'd have to tell them they couldn't afford me. This layoff was the best thing that ever happened in my career. Just didn't seem like it at that time of layoff.
I hear hiring freeze from alot of people I know on the inside that are blue badge , on top of that from what I am told it dosent sound promising as they still don't know the plan for anything. I also hear they are waiting for the response from the uaw in September to see what happens with that I guess , I was told it's going to be till the end of the year before hiring will occur if at all. My friends left are saying it's not a good environment and very much unsettled. What is going on with this company , is this all on Marry ?
I have not been called back and neither has anyone I know.
