Yep - and what’s the point of legal action to keep your job since it’s a sinking ship anyways

So this tells me it is in their best interest to offer a severance to waive any rights to a future law suit or EEO action.

It’s def offshoring - not a reduction in force

They hired a pune person for my

Exact job after I left andvthere are more job openings for my position on the sungard jobs site

yes you are correct they were all reduction in forces but when you sign that severance check you waive all those rights. If the future holds no severance checks then..,...........,.

Very interesting comment about the definition of a RIF. So, if I understand correctly if you're RIF'd then the company cant rehire someone to take your job. So, if the company only shifts the job to dirt cheap offshore resources then that is discrimination in violation of EEO rules. Well weren't at least most of the layoffs since 2017 considered. RIFs??? Were the ones brought in all "contractors" or were they SgAS employees? Hmmm, ...well...

Got news for all of you... Very important. Does anyone know what a RIF is??? yes correct reduction-in-force when you have a reduction in force you cannot rehire somebody for that position that's called discrimination not reduction-in-force....if you rehire someone how is that a RIF. EEO

Oh, that's why they off shored all those jobs. To become more diverse. Now it makes more sense. What a great company. Thanks for enlightening me.

“No way I’m doing that, I invested a big portion of my working life into Sungard, no way I’m giving up just like that.”

I stand behind you we are like in common cause like revolution. Everything you say will inspire for good work into success. I feel the turn of corner like what OP talks about. Other thing I notice, negative attitude employees forget diversity in Sungard. Diverse workforce go into India and Costa Rica. That is positive like branding of our history, we are pioneer of DR! Successful companies show they have diversity.

The comment from YJL9VQt-1nnc is an excellent example of somebody who can’t accept change.

Sorry dude, but your refusal to face reality is the source of your pain. The company is going down the drain. That is the hard truth. And sadly, Stern and Binford don’t give a hoot about all the years you poured into Sungard.

There you go! That’s the right attitude, i’m with you all the way! I’m sick of all the negativity here and the way others have been piling on scare tactics. Unless Stern or binford comes right out and says we’re out of business, I’m not buying any of this “analysis” from worthless critics. No way I’m doing that, I invested a big portion of my working life into Sungard, no way I’m giving up just like that. I’m going to believe in optimism. We are turning a corner. Like what another poster said, Stern and Binford have a plan, they’re business wizards. This is going to go great. I feel it. I have my customers, I have my job, I’m going to keep working my best for my customers. No way will all this just go down the drain. No one’s going to stop me. No one’s going to take my choice away from me.

Why no mention of how many Customers have either refused to sign new deals, left or stopped with SGAS activities since the announcement?

How much is being spent on the three oversight companies? $100M goes very fast for consultants.

DC's on the block.....Jim Mann once said "we're not in the real estate business"....more fire sales coming.

Calm down team, some of us work for a living and have customer duties. It's great that we actually made a sales budget number, the last time we did that i think was 2014, let's see if we can do it again and start a trend before the place gets gutted.

some of you people are delusional oh joy we had a good quarter after filing chapter 11 then being bought out by venture capitalist wake up people only reason they had a good quarter because they laid half of the American Force off and send it over to India just look at Philadelphia recovery all the people that used to be there pretty much gone the ones that are left will be gone soon it's all bulshit so great so great that file chapter 11 bailed the companies it owned us bailed they see something don't be stupid I just come in and do my job go home could care less about success or anything else they will not hesitate to hand me a pink slip and not think twice

Obviously some of those posting here no longer, or never have worked for Sungard AS - not aware of an all hands call where this was all announced. For the poster(s) claiming it's just cost cutting, that could be reflected in the earnings piece, but sales and retention also increased (on or ahead of budget).

Hey - so it looks like there are going to be tons of layoffs at xerox because they are offshoring to India and Guatemala. Once again sungard is behind on the times and only offshoring to India. Maybe they should consider Kuwait? Or Saudi Arabia For cheaper labor.

Customer support isn’t s concern anyway for upper management

You heard or you know, if this is the case, why is OPG only source and why wouldn't a company that is in our position be shouting this to the high heavens to make sure the market understands we're making progress. You'd think the LT would want to advertise this beyond OPGs limited cranial capacity.

Did i miss something, what great results are we talking about? Did we hit a sales forecast? Did we hit a retention forecast? Did we hit a revenue projection? Did we sell anything on AWS yet?

I know we announced restructuring our debt with VCs? But what are the great results specifically to point too, last info i've heard is that we continually miss sales forecasts, miss revenue targets, have a retention issue, and haven't sold anything with AWS?

Please provide specifics so we can actually have facts on this site instead of the naysayers and the company people arguing.
