Sales jobs are easy, don’t talk sh– about support unless you actually have a viable skill set (which no one in sales does)

Seems to be lots of hiring of Directors in both F&B and HGBU teams - and with few or no reports. What do these people do? No clear job descriptions. F&B may have all the new hires but in hotels - most of the same old Micros managers are still here - why? These folks have shown they don't like being acquired by Oracle, don't want to follow rules and no one seems to be able to force them to do their jobs. Chaos

F&B is a mess.No strategy , no skills, all new folks.

India hiring has been crazy. Engineers are being added Daily.qa team has doubled in last few months.

So many directors but no value added

Can someone explain me on why qa team is using eggplant tool?

Hotels is so mismanaged that I don't see how anyone is making money and our customers are fleeing as fast as they can. Our support is horrible, our products are old and not competetive plus we can't get new deals through all the processes in less than a quarter. We have so much process overhead that we can't explain it to customers who ask what's taking so long. No one outside this insane business unit can understand why it takes months to quote a deal and when we try to explain, we sound like we don't know what we're doing. If that weren't enough to scare off customers, our prices are so high that any competition can provide better discounts and incentives. I'm waiting for the whole HGBU to be spun off and let some other company integrate them.

The F&B side is slow because there's no new customers and no new products but seems we're hiring people to do strategy and projects. Sales people have been replaced more quickly than hotels but we have so many newbees that don't have a clue, how they can sell anything is a mystery. Some don't even know how to write a das yet.

Since MW & BW were moved out of the HGBU & GBU exec suite :) not much has changed except the Sabre guys are now in charge and probably will be bringing in more of their buddies after they clean house. FY20 rumors are that there's sales rif's coming and the annual reorg - but that's not unusual for end of Q4. I'm in F&B but I think for both LOB's everyone is hoping for the integration to finally be over and force these people to act like they work for Oracle. Too much sales coddling and looking the other way with bad business practice that needs to stop. Customers have no confidence.
