Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana is going to Hell for the way they are treating people.

Great job Humana!

Great job Humana! Your PR has reached an all time low. Your customers hate you and can't wait to leave, you employees hate you and their entire circle of influence...friends, family, acquaintances...as a nurse, every doctor, imaging center, pharmacy, lab, hospital, LTC....they all hate you. Yahoo stock has rated you the 4th worst stock in the medical industry to invest in and you have worked your way to the top in many others. You have completely lost sight of all of your employees and customers and the community you serve. Any attempts at promoting any different after your business model of "it's all about making a profit" are seen as a slap in the face and hypocrisy. I am gone. This is my last post or visitation to this site since the very mention of your name makes me want to vomit. It will be my pleasure to see you fall....I hope that happens. You are ruining the very essence of medical care by deleting kindness, compassion, promotion of wellbeing at the expense of human life and the almighty dollar. You didnt even try to find a balance. I just cant any more. I just cant. You cant fix stupid. Adios.

In response to "vindictive" and the other who is responding. Yes. Nurses were working 10 and 12 hours and getting paid for 8. There was a push to produce more and more . Nurses were skipping breaks and working on their own time to complete the work so their managers would back off. Some of these nurses worked there for over 7 years and it just kept piling on more and more. Being asked to train new nurses and continue to get their work done. Some that have left are not sorry. They are glad to get a life back. The so called 'bonus' was only giving back a part of what was owed. Some missed out as they already left. Lets not even talk about the bonuses the top management got. Millions.

Getting vacation time was hard, getting days off was harder.

Viciously attacking people on this venue without having any knowledge of what was going on is bullying.

YQ12F1o-8cyz As a manager. If any of my team were working off the clock and HR found out, I would be fired. You are full of BS. Some people already took Humana to Court for this and got no place.

Ok. Didnt say nurses. Social workers, telephonic, office staff, etc. Let's say twice that many....2000 across the Humana spectrum worked 5 hours overtime. Same math. Or let's say half that many worked free overtime. They only took 40 some million from their employees. That's much better, right? What about the fact that it was the norm not the exception to require excessive hours of overtime. Peruse this site and that is well stated. Vindictive? Perhaps a bit. I prefer informative but call it what you like, it does not change the facts.

Vindictive OP. Please get some help. I don't believe that many nurses were working all that unpaid OT.

Let's say 1000 employees working for an average hourly rate of 30.00 at 10 hours per week unpaid overtime for 48 weeks per year for 5 years. That equals 86.4 million dollars. You may call me a vindictive cray-cray but u are not the brightest cookie in the box. Simple math. 1000 employees times 10 hours per week times 30 dollars per hour times 48 weeks times 5 years times 1.5 for time and a half. Math doesn't lie. Sorry.

What a vindictive cray cray you are urstocksux! Humana just keeps doing better with more contracts awarded, increased earnings per share and increased STARS ratings. None of us will be sad to see you leave.

I lied. Any news on all the unpaid overtime for 5 and a half years that we were promised "job security" in exchange for? Guess I learned from the best. Kind of like on the job training.

Uh, not today mdh. Such an interesting rebuttal though. I, unlike Humana would not deliberately do harm to another individual and I am not into self-mutilation. You? Perhaps you may have something more worthwhile to say in your next comment.

You don’t sound very stable. Have any thoughts of hurting yourself or others?
